In the philosophy of yoga, the concept of Tapas is often described as the fire of self-discipline, a burning enthusiasm that fuels personal transformation. Rooted in the Niyamas (the ethical observances of yoga), Tapas encourages us to cultivate dedication, resilience, and a sense of purpose in our practice and daily lives.

The word Tapas comes from the Sanskrit root "tap," meaning "to burn" or "to generate heat." It refers to the heat of discipline, the effort we put into refining ourselves physically, mentally, and spiritually.
